General Motors unveils plans for centennial celebration

DETROIT (AP) — General Motors Corp. plans a week of activities in September to cap its 100th anniversary celebration, the automaker said Thursday.
The GMnext Days global centennial celebration is scheduled around Sept. 16 to commemorate the company's founding on that date in 1908 by Billy Durant, owner of Flint's Buick Motor Co.
The company said plans for that event and others soon will be announced. [more here]
