Candidates at Detroit Auto Show

I know this ain't Thompson related. But it is Michigan related and I am damn proud that our state is getting national attention now. So I am going to post it nonetheless.

  • DETROIT (AP) — The top three Republican presidential candidates were using the North American International Auto Show's glitzy concept cars and trendy alternative fuel vehicles to drive home their support for the domestic auto industry.
  • Mitt Romney, John McCain and Mike Huckabee have spent the week leading up to Tuesday's presidential primary vowing to help displaced autoworkers and turn Michigan's moribund economy — and the auto industry — into a national powerhouse again.
  • The candidates were bringing their campaigns to the sprawling show during the second day of media events. It opens to the public on Saturday. [more here]
