Huckabee slams Clinton on Petraeus vote
- WASHINGTON, 25 (UPI) -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Republican presidential hopeful, said Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., will be the Democratic Party candidate for 2008.
- However, in an interview with The Washington Times, Huckabee slammed Clinton for not voting for a Senate resolution last week condemning an ad in The New York Times by the Moveon.org political group that criticized U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus' performance as top commander in Iraq.
- Clinton wasn't among the 22 Democrats who voted in favor of condemning the attack, although on Sunday television interviews, she condemned it.Referring to billionaire philanthropist and political activist George Soros, one of Moveon.org's benefactors, Huckabee lashed out Clinton in the interview.
- "If you can't get your lips off the backside of George Soros long enough to use those lips to say it's wrong to declare a sitting general ... guilty of treason, how would you ever expect to have the support of the very military you might have to send into deadly battle?" Huckabee told the Times.
Don't ya just love that quote? It is so dead on correct.
