Commited to Michigan on October 9

Mike Huckabee will be participating in the October 9th Republican Debates in Michigan.

  • LANSING, Mich. -- Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has agreed to participate in an Oct. 9 Republican presidential debate in Dearborn.
Candidates Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, Sam Brownback and Ron Paul already have said they will attend.
The debate will be held at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center and is being sponsored by CNBC, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, the city of Dearborn, the University of Michigan-Dearborn and the state Republican Party.
At this point, it's unlikely a similar debate will be held with the Democratic candidates.
They're continuing to honor a pledge not to campaign in Michigan or Florida because the two states broke Democratic party rules by moving up their primaries ahead of next Feb. 5.

Info from Channel 5 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Wouldn't that be awesome if Mike Huckabee came out on top of this debate, beating out Mitt Romney in his homestate? Some people may underestimate Michigan's significance in this election cycle. Michigan is very important due to the early primary, plus the Democrats snubbing Michigan. I have said here over and over again that if any Republican can sway Michigan Democrats to the right side it is Mike Huckabee. Who knows what Mike's standing will be after the Michigan Primary, I think if he gets enough exposure here he can win Michigan, primary and general. What is really needed is for Mike to win the Primary.
