1950's, Ike, Civil Rights

The last Republican to really get involved with Civil Rights was probably Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower. Over at Grand Old Partisan is a few posts regarding Ike's involvement with Civil Rights and black Republicans.

Here are a few posts:

Check out Michael Zak's blog, Grand Old Partisan. Republicans need to know the history of the Civil Rights and the Republican Party's involvement.
Many bloggers and online media are talking about the fact that Mike Huckabee had almost 50% of the black vote in Arkansas. That is pretty dang good for a Republican. He didn't have to pander to anyone to get this turnout. He campaigned with truth, honesty and integrity. That is something that is not a black or white issue. It is an American issue. He appealed to all with his issues. We need a President who can cross over all age, ethnic and economic barriers. Mike Huckabee is the man for that.
If ya recall, Mike Huckabee is an ordained pastor. He has seen people of all walks of life. And he respects everyone, regardless of who they are. We need another leader like Ike. That is Mike Huckabee.
