Why "I Like Mike"

Mike Huckabee is a former governor Arkansas, from 1996-2007. This is not a big political state, in terms of national politics. Before he was governor he was a Baptist pastor. He does not shove his faith down anyone's throats. While at the same time he is not afraid to speak about his own faith and how it affects him in his everyday life. Mr. Huckabee knows what life is like for the working class, having been born to a working class family. He is down to earth and honest. His pro-life stance has never wavered. Nor are his beliefs due to living up to the status quo. It is the real deal. Music and arts education in the schools is a passion for him. He cares about the poor, without giving handouts. While governor he reduced the welfare roles by half.

There are some narrow minded Clinton bashing Republicans who may not give him a chance due to the fact that he is from Arkansas. As someone who has a grandfather from Arkansas I do not like it when people bash Bill Clinton because of what state he is from. It is quite fine to criticize Mr. Clinton for his policies while in the White House. The fact that Mr. Huckabee is from Arkansas should be a positive not a negative. He was a citizen of the state during Clinton's time as governor. Of all the Republican candidates he is most likely to predict any tricks from Hillary Clinton without resorting to dirty tricks. When, not if, Mike Huckabee becomes the parties nominee he will defeat Hillary through sheer honesty of the issues.
