Another Michigan Endorsement for Mike Huckabee and Tenth michigan Blogger for Huckabee

I would just like to take this op to announce a second endorsement for Mike Huckabee, from the great state of Michigan! The first Michigan Endorsement being by Rev. Keith Butler. Mr. Akindele F. Akinyemi of "Akindele Unleashed" blog has endorsed Mike Huckabee. Who is Mr. Akinyemi? Well I don't know a whole lot about him, but here is his blog description; Who is Akindele?

Sounds like a pretty smart guy, huh? He may not be some fancy pants Senator or Congressman. He seems like a well known blogger who is more than just the average blogger who just talks about there opinion. But if he supports Mike Huckabee he must know a thing or two. I have read his blog now and again. I have liked what I read. He seems very down to earth and his posts are concise, not like when "yours truly" rants and raves about this and that. Here is his post about endorsing Mike Huckabee.

• Today, I am officially announcing the endorsement of Gov. Mike Huckabee for President. Whether he wins or not I am highly impressed with his genuine approach of solving issues here in the United States.
• I was watching the CNN/YouTube debates last night and Gov. Huckabee impressed me. Here is the final hook for me during those debates. An African American male from Los Angeles, CA asked a question on why African Americans do not vote for Republicans when most of us are originally conservative. Gov. Huckabee stated that the Republican Party has not done a good job in reaching out to African Americans and he clearly stated how 48% of African Americans voted for him when he was Governor of Arkansas.
• 48%?
• If the Republican Party want to find someone who can swing the votes in the African American community it will be Huckabee. No one else.
• Mayor Guilani cannot do it because he has been historically hostile towards Blacks. Gov. Romney cannot do it because Blacks are traditionally skeptical of the Mormon faith. Most Blacks do not even know Fred Thompson or the other candidates and they have not been reaching out to the urban community.
• Speaking of Blacks, the Florida Republican Party is on fire. Not only they have had two Republican debates in the state but they even hosted a Black Republican Conference recently to gain more support for Blacks who are in the Republican Party as well as expanding their outreach efforts to bring Blacks into the Party. I am impressed unlike some of us in the Midwest who want to continue the status quo and wait until election time to bring Blacks into the Party just for a vote. Not interested in Johnny Come Lately types of campaigns.
• In various national polls, Huckabee is coming in a solid third behind former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson. In fact,the former Arkansas governor is now running in a dead heat with Mitt Romney in the lead in Iowa.
• I think he will beat Romney in Iowa. Huckabee is the sleeper in this race.
• Republican voters rate him first in both honesty and morality. Some Democrats I know are even switching their vote for Gov. Huckabee. The very fact that he is in the South makes him a stronger candidate than Romney or Guilani, who are looked at as either an Yankee or Liberal Republican.
• The other thing we are not looking at is how this man, with his honesty and being genuine, is correct on many social issues that Huckabee, a Baptist minister, is the real deal. This is playing well among Iowa Republicans, a third of whom are evangelicals and 70 percent of whom are conservatives.

Being the first Huckabee blogger from Michigan I am so glad to see that the list of Michigan bloggers for Huckabee is growing. The cool thing is that after I announce a new Huckabee blogger from Michigan I receive a comment that I missed someone. So, if I missed you, comment away. you're even allowed to chew me out for missing you. I also want to add that where I found out about Mr. Akinyemi's endorsement of Mike Huckabee was on RightMichigan.com. This is another of my fave blogs.

I had reported previously reported that Rev. Keith Butler from Word of Faith International Christian Center Church in Michigan endorsed Mike Huckabee, at the Clinton County Lincoln Day Dinner in East Lansing, Michigan. I could complain that the campaign waited two weeks to announce this, but I waited about four days to announce this. I didn't even notice the press release until someone commented on my post and pointed me to the release. Thank you, "Anonymous", whoever you are.

Keith Butler Supports Mike Huckabee! (UPDATE)(UPDATE)

(UPDATE) It is official. I contacted one of the persons from the Clinton County Republican Party and he has said Keith Butler has switched his endorsement over to Mike Huckabee. I just need to get official confirmation on this.

(UPDATE) As a commentor said, that Rev. Keith Butler endorsed John McCain months ago. Yet I reported that at the Lincoln Day Dinner he said he "supports Mike Huckabee." Before he said this I had thought he endorsed John McCain. Well, I have been checking out to see if he has switched over to the Huckabee campaign. I can't find anything. I did find this in the Lansing State Journal;

  Huckabee's appearance in mid-Michigan comes on the same day that McCain campaigns in Jackson.
  While McCain canceled an event at MSU, the trips by him and Huckabee illustrate how much more emphasis Republican candidates are placing on Michigan than Democrats. Mitt Romney has campaigned in mid-Michigan twice. [source]

So, here's what I don't get. If he is still endorsing John McCain, why was he at an event with Mike Huckabee and not at the McCain events? If anyone can help me with this, one way or the other, please let me know.

I am still downstate. I will get more details about the Clinton County Lincoln Day Dinner event in East Lansing to y'all later on. But I want to drop in to say a few words. Keith Butler introduced Mike Huckabee, before that he talked about all the talking points I have been talking about here. Keith Butler likes that Mike Huckabee is pro-life, honest, pro-family, tough on immigration, and pro-morals. Before introducing Mike, Keith Butler said, "said that is why I support Mike Huckabee for President."
Mike Huckabee made the best possible speech ever. Mike is just full of surprises. I have heard him speak many times, through the power of online video. Each and every speech is just moving. Last nights speech was no exception. I am going to try to get a word for word about the best part of his speech regarding bobsledding. I am sure I have y'all confused. Well don't be. There was a great story about a visit he made to Utah a few years ago and in the end he gave the moral to the story.
