One of my favorite aspects of A Christmas Story is that Ralphie's Indiana town looks a lot like Flint. Also, check out the kitchen and that awesome 1920's range.
I have to agree with ya to some point on that. Although last time I was in Flint, last summer, Flint is a little to run down to be compared to the town in the movie. It once was like the town in the movie, with the unpretentious, yet upkept neighborhoods and houses. There was once a time when ya could do all your shopping and eating in downtown Flint, just like in "The Christmas Story." Now most all the buildings are boarded up.
I also like the kitchen in "the Christmas Story." I like the Fiesta dishes. I collect those dishes. Even in the late 70's and 80's Flint houses still had kitchens like that.
